Why do small snow throwers often fail to start? Did you find the right reason?

The reason why do small snow throwers often fail to start

The weather will be cooled down in winter, and it will be snowed heavily in most areas. At this time, many large-scale snow removal equipment and small snow throwers will be ready to go, ready to start new work and become this high-profile protagonist. Winter is different from the past, a lot of snow throwers may fail to catch fire, so why can’t the snow thrower start?

For a small snow thrower that plays a leading role in deicing and snow removal, the first thing to do is to start the engine for a test drive.

However, we often find that it is difficult to ignite and start snow throwers. It can be seen that for small snow blowers that have been placed in storage for a long time, it is necessary to use carburetor cleaner to clean the carburetor.

After cleaning the carburetor, the engine still cannot be ignited and started, which means that the snow plow does not ignite and has nothing to do with the long-term placement of the snow blower.

In this case, it is not easy to ignite and start, just like our newly purchased snow plow is not easy to start at the first ignition in winter.

In winter, the temperature is low, and the choke valve on the engine must be closed to easily start the ignition. “Close the damper” mentioned here is a professional term, and it is the same as “opening the damper” that some people often say when igniting motorcycles in winter. The purpose is to increase the concentration of gasoline in the oil-air mixture in the engine cylinder.

Since the proportion of gasoline in the oil-air mixture can only be increased by closing the choke valve and reducing the amount of air intake, the “opening the damper” that some people say in daily life is actually a wrong statement. So how to use the choke valve of a gasoline engine?

Gasoline engine dampers are used as follows:

The first thing to do is to find the location of the damper on the small snow blower’s engine.

The shape and position of the damper for different types of engines are different. There are two common damper positions:
When the temperature is low in winter, the damper is placed in the “off” position, and after the engine is ignited and started, it is slowly placed in the “on” position.
If the temperature is warmer, the damper should be placed between the “off” and “on” positions, so that the engine is easier to ignite.

If the damper is closed at this time, it will be difficult for the engine to ignite, and if it is forced to start multiple times, it will cause the phenomenon of “cylinder flooding”.
Therefore, exactly where the throttle position is placed is closely related to the ambient temperature to which the engine is exposed.
